Rattanakosin Island has been the royal and administrative center of Bangkok ever since King Rama I moved the capital to Bangkok in 1782. Situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River and bounded by connecting canals it is where you'll find Bangkok's most historical and royal landmarks.

This tour will explore the history of the Rattanakosin period and some of the area’s most famous landmarks. You will also discover more about the different kings who had an impression on this area. As we walk you will pass famous places like, the Amulet Market, Thammasat University, Wat Mahthat, Sanam Luang, City Pillar Shrine, The Grand Palace (and Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). However, we will also take you to a few lesser now places like Wat Ratchapradit and Saranrom Park.

This is a short walk aimed at giving a great overview of the area but without actually going into all the places we pass. Specifically, it will not enter the Grand Palace or Wat Pho but give you an overview of them so you can explore them on your own after the tour.
